I completely agree there is more to counting carbon and pursuing certification. Each department of every organization, from hotels to software companies, has an opportunity to view their daily operations and period goals through the lens of sustainability. Counting Carbon is great, and the ISO certifications can be worth the money and time, but if you stop there, you will missing the boat.
