Thank you for your comment, Anthony. I completely agree there is more to counting carbon and pursuing certification. Each department of every organization, from hotels to software companies, has an opportunity to view their daily operations and period goals through the lens of sustainability. As you and others at Caelus Consulting know, they will uncover a variety of ways to protect the environment, save money, and attract consumers.

Sustainability for the hospitality industry is like every other industry in that they must take an initial inventory of their entire sustainability protfolio. Counting Carbon is great, and the ISO certifications can be worth the money and time, but if you stop there, you will missing the boat.

Check out our CurrentState sustainability diagnostic for the hospitality industry!

Nicely written and linked! Obscure information at best and some that would be wise for US parks to heed. It seems like a 'no brainer' because not only is it healthier but it also saves money. Less chemicals also mean less wear and tear on mechanical systems and pumps.

Plus, what a great PR tool for a local water park to be able to say their park is safe for the kids!

Great article! What a great way to learn about our world and give it thoughtful attention! I think the U.S. Department of Education could learn a lot from Mr. Miller that would lead to making us more competitive in the world!

Keep up the good work!

Thank you Matt, this was very generous of you. We hope to be out with an actual offering in a few months.

Very serious "props" do indeed go out to the real magic of all of this - Ener Hax! Our tireless and dedicated 3D builder who shares the same passion for science and knows that enthusiasm trumps rote memorization any day! And clearly uses Google Alerts better than I do! (How comment here so quickly?)

Without Ener's work, this would not exist and I hope the workbook lives up to that vision.
